*Homework Calendar*

Each night students will have homework!  On the bottom of this page in Related Files - homework is just a click away!

If a student completes all their homework on time for the week, they will get a chance to play HOMEWORKOPOLY!

Homework Hub from Scholastic - just click away

Spelling City - click here to play games and practice your spelling words

Writing -If you want your child to practice writing, this site is great!

Monday - Thursday of a typical week

Read for 30 minutes, record on the reading log.  Due on Thursday is the reading/response log.  Students are to write a summary, opinion, and response from part of a chapter book they are reading.

Spelling Packet: Students will be given a set of spelling words based on a pattern. They have choices about what activities to do to help them study. Their spelling test will be on  Friday.

Grammar/Reading Comprehension: Usually a worksheet for the grammar to practice what we've learned during the day. Reading homework will vary according to the students' needs.

Math: Practice workbook pages and fact families to memorize.

Each night, your son/daughter will complete one page of math review. If at any time throughout the year your child is struggling with a concept and can not finish their homework in an hour or less - PLEASE draw a line where your child finished, initial the homework, and I will know that your child did the best they could. I will meet with your child to discuss the homework and reintroduce the concept.

Monthly I would like to include book reports or some type of long-term project as appropriate.

Mid-Year Progression:  As we progress in the year, there will be longer term assignments, to help the students with Time Management Skills.

*** Please sign daily your child's agenda and check to see if all work has been completed.  As always, please let me know of any homework difficulties you are having with your child.  These assignments should not be difficult, as they are to be review and reinforcement of lessons that have been taught in the classroom.
